Day 65: Wednesday, August 4th, 2021
I slept in until 6 a.m. today….I couldn’t believe it. I had been blessed with a nice room, HUGE because of the two Queen beds, and SMOKE FREE!! It pays to be kind, and I believe that it does come back around when you need it most. I almost cried when I saw that I had a McDs and a Safeway across the street from my hotel…no more hot car for today anyways. Check-in was flawless and I made sure to request that my smoke free room be as far away from the smoking ones- she even called me in my room to make sure I was ok with it. HOW KIND!
Today was supposed to be Portland, then I drove through it on the way here and said FORGET THAT. Now, maybe in the future Kyra and I can have a do over and fly out, stay in the city, and do all of the Portlandia goodness we planned on. But I am just not comfortable driving in and out of that alone, so I decided I would just take a day for me today. AND IT HAS BEEN AWESOME!!!!
First, my workouts started back up since I am about 95% better. THANK YOU GOD! The cold lasted about a week, and I am happy to get past it, but I did wear my mask all week and I will continue to wear it again more as variants are popping up everywhere. After my workout, protein shake and vitamins, I heard from my friend Kelly in CA that a bunch of stuff went on sale today and that we should jump on it. I am HAPPY and EXCITED to announce that I will be touring PRESTON CASTLE the night before Halloween and THE WINCHESTER MYSTERY HOUSE on HALLOWEEN!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I am a little excited.
From that high, I got a GREAT text from my youngest daughter about life things and I just was so freaking proud of her and the giant steps she has taken this summer in her life as a whole. Things are progressing and this Momma bear is very happy with both of her baby cubs. The dominoes are falling.
The rest of my day thus far has been more planning, phone calls with family and friends checking in and on me, and taking advantage of much needed mental rest from being sick all week. Tomorrow I head to another area of Oregon, slowly making my way East towards Idaho for next week. I’m coming for you taters! See you tomorrow.
Thank you for your kindness!!
I LOVE sharing the joy of Adventure, and Travel! Every dollar you support me with goes right back into my mission for equipment, gas, and essentials. But most importantly, when you support me financially it tells me you BELIEVE in me and MY VALUE, and that means more to me than ANYTHING! Spreading the kindness is my goal on this amazing journey, and I thank you for helping me make magic for so many people. So THANK YOU for YOU!!
